The Monts Luisants estate was built up by Bernard Dufouleur, who, in the middle of the 1960s, bought various plots of land, to make up a total estate of 3.5 hectares. Today, the estate boils down to one man, Jean Marc Dufourleur, his son, and a purist in matter of terroir, a visionary and especially a circumspect wine grower. "Morey Saint Denis en pierre virant" is a cuvée that comes from vines over 40 years old planted on steep, very stony clay and limestone parcels.
The wine is made in open vats at low temperature to preserve the fruity aromas. It then ages for 12 to 18 months in barrels to improve its structure.
This wine develops notes of wild fruit, wild strawberries, candied cherries and aromatic herbs with a slightly mineral touch. When young it is very supple, and becomes more expressive as it ages.
